Owlet sock

1st time mom looking for opinions on the owlet sock monitor thingy. Any information helps. Thanks!!!

Wouldn’t recommend at all. Gives parents too much anxiety and stress that is very much not needed. They slip all the time and then the monitor goes off.

I have a Eufy sock that monitors O2 & heart rate & video cameras with noise/crying detection & really like it. I only ever had 1 false alarm in a year  of use

Honestly.. this is not a waste of money. This saved my 1 month old baby before. He had a whooping cough and everytime he coughs he was turning blue and oxygen level would drop. This thing saved my sons life..

I loved mine with both my older two and plan to use it for my third. I had terrible PPA to the point where I couldn’t sleep. This gave me peace of mind and help me get the rest I needed. I never had any false alarms with my first baby and I only had one or two with my second. To me, it’s worth it but everyone is different.

For us it was worth it. We were so terrified to not be looking at our baby at all times, so it relieved a lot of anxiety for us new parents who were already anxiety ridden. We were able to actually sleep. We bought one used and it did get to a point where it was going off randomly because it had slipped, but he was older that point and we felt more comfortable getting rid of it. We used it for probably 8 months.

We were going to get one after our little one got admitted for pneumonia and various respiratory issues. However, when we looked into it, the device only takes an average of its readings in ten minutes, so we felt in reality, that just wouldn’t be helpful, or pick up deterioration quickly at all. That said, we never found an alternative, but ended up checking his sats regularly encase of decline.

Didn’t have with my first, kept checking his breathing all night. Had it with my second two and love it. I have NEVER had a false reading, and very rarely a “placement alarm”- this usually happens when they become older and start standing and touching at it. My current one using it is almost 3 months. Love them, especially if they get a cold or something. They are now fda approved too. Don’t hardly use the camera but love the sock. Will continue to use until each kid is around 8m or so. It’s a lot easier to sleep at night knowing there’s another eye, my SIL has severe anxiety and the sock helped her a lot

I used it for all 3 of my babies and plan to get another one for my last one. I never had any issues with false readings and found it comforting to be able to check their O2 and heart rate, especially when they were sick. I am a former ICU RN so that may be why I never had any anxiety associated with it. No one ever advised me not to use one. 🤷‍♀️
