PCOS - I’m desperate!

I look at myself and feel disgusting. Sometimes I think maybe I don't want this bad enough, maybe I'm okay with how I look, but really l'm not. Ever since I got diagnosed with PCOS, I feel so unmotivated, because everyday I'm reading something new like first I saw that weight lifting would be good, but now I'm reading that it might actually have a negative impact. My doctor doesn't care at all, I asked for any recommendations like if i should take myo-inositol or metformin and she basically just said "yeah if u want". I started taking metformin 500mg ER once a day and once I felt like I was comfortable with it, I asked her if I should take more, she took FOREVER to reply and said ! can take 2 a day now. She just does not care to do any blood work, she hasn't told me anything about PCOS or what I should do/not do, NOTHING. I'm thinking of changing my doctor but it's not easy.

I tried to follow a diet and I did really well for about a month (both times) but then fell back into my old habits because the amount of time it takes to see results is SO long.

If I were to just eat healthier (less carbs, cut out sugar, more veggies) would that work or do I absolutely have to be in a specific diet with a specific calorie deficit? If I just eat 3 healthy meals and 2 snacks a day, will that help me? I'm just so lost right now.

Please any tips, tricks, advice, education you have on PCOS, please share.

My main goal right now is to lose weight. Everything else will fall into place.
