I’m 40+4 today, this is my third babe, I’ve had spontaneous labors with my first and second babes at 40+1 and 40+4. This time around I have a herniated disc and something is wrong with my hips because of it. The alignments are off. Anyhow, I get to go in tomorrow to start cervical ripening with Cytotec (Misoprostol), they told me they would monitor me for a couple hours and then send me home. The nurse said if I didn’t go into labor, then they’d have me come back again on the 7th, rinse and repeat, if again, I’m not in labor, then on the 9th they will just be keeping me. Obviously I would rather just go into spontaneous labor, but that’s not upto me. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Anyone else go in, get the pill, and then go home and go into labor? Last appointment on the 1st I was 1CM and only 50 effaced. I’m hoping since I’ve been having some contractions on and off that I’ve dilated more, but who knows.
