How long did you wait to have another baby after birth ?

Experts say you should wait at least 18 months but I wonder if women actually wait that long…

We started trying for our second a year after my daughter was born, after being cleared by my regular OB and my fertilty doctor. They wanted us to try for 6 months before we did IVF again.

After my first son  I got pregnant at 9 months pp and had our daughter. 5 months pp   after that I got pregnant with our youngest son. It is definitely possible to get pregnant and have successful pregnancies with a very quick turn around. I will say, my pregnancies have gotten progressively harder physically. My husband and i are now waiting a minimum of 2  before we even think about getting pregnant again to give my body a break.

I was 11 months pp when i got pregnant after my daughter. Ended in a miscarriage. Pregnant again 15 months after my daughter and 3 months after miscarriage. Then I was pregnant 13 months after my son who was a c section baby, ended in a miscarriage. Pregnant again 15 months pp and month after my miscarriage. In my opinion if you had a c section I recommend to wait at least close to 18 months before trying again to give your body to heal. Getting pregnant to soon after one can cause complications that can put you and your baby at risk. If you had a vaginal delivery I still recommend the 18 months however you know your body more than anyone else.
