Amoxicillin causing yeast infection

I started taking amoxicillin a couple days ago and now seem to have something going on down there, im assuming a yeast infection caused by the antibiotic. Is there anything I can take that can fight off the infection while taking amoxicillin? Or any home remedies?

How do you know have a yeast infection without the discharge. I'm taking antibiotics to cure staph but I've been having intense vaginal pain.

Antibiotics often cause yeast infections in women as well as GI upset in everyone. You can take a probiotic while taking amoxicillin to try to promote the “good bacteria” to grow since the amoxicillin is destroying ALL bacteria. The probiotic will benefit both the GI system and may help with the yeast infection but it would take care of it completely. For the yeast infection, if you’ve had one before and you’re confident that’s what it is, I would get some over the counter monistat (or generic brand) either the 3 day suppositories or the 7 day cream. These won’t affect the amoxicillin. If you’ve never had a yeast infection before, make a call to your doctor for their recommendations. Sometimes they can prescribe an oral medication that you take only once which I like better than using a 3 or 7 day long vaginal treatment tbh.
