Venting
My fiance and I are very much happy and in love. We are getting married next May. I have met most of his family and have gotten along with everyone besides his mom. Last year I had met her for the first time and she was wonderful. The second time I met her she gave me a hug and said she loved me, the third time…. Something changed. She came over to his house (before we lived together) and started yelling at me about things she “sees”. Mind you I was just at his house doing my homework for college at the time so he was at work. She left and he came home and I had told him how she freaked out on me. He ended up calling her and she told him I was lazy cause I didn’t do his laundry or help clean up his kids rooms. (mind you I was not living there or even staying there at the time) she told me I was lazy like his ex wife and that she hates me. A few days later the kids told us how upset they were because their grandmother told them that she doesn’t like me and asked them why they liked me. My fiancé then called her and asked why she was involving a 4 year old and a 7 year old into something that they shouldn’t be involved with. He told her that until she can apologize to both the kids and myself, that she is not able to see them.
Fast forward to now. I live at the home, and he did his drop off with the kids to his ex wife (which me and her get along very well!) and she told him how his mom reached out to her talking very badly about him and myself. His son then told his mom that his grandmother has flipped the table on him before and has upset him by screaming at him.
I think I need to vent but also get advice on what to do. I’m sorry that when I didn’t live there nor had clothes there I didn’t fold her grown son’s laundry or clean his kids room one day. Since u now live there I solely clean as I enjoy it and I’m far from lazy. I’m not understanding her issue with me since she really does not know me. On top of that she hates his ex wife so I don’t get her narcissistic behavior.
We need advice in the situation as it’s tearing me apart because she just doesn’t stop with the harassing behavior.
