Should I report my coworker for sending in false miss slips
I'm a phlebotomist and work at a hospital. If we stick someone and we miss we have to send in a miss slip and they will send another person down. If 5x phlebotomist miss then you look into different alternatives to get the blood. It's common for some phlebotomist to send in miss slips when they never even tried. Some do it if they know they aren't going to be able to get the vein and don't want to stick the person when they know they will miss. Some do it because they don't want to go into a room that has bed bugs. I never send in a miss slip if I don't try. In the work room when we were going through our labels one of my coworkers said "Ew no!" And took out a miss slip. I asked what was up and she said shes not going in that patients room because he's a disgusting old man who has grabbed her ass, sexually harassed you, and talks about his wife who he started seeing when she was 13 and he was 42. She said he's a disgusting old man and she's not going in there. So she wrote a slip saying she missed. I don't agree with fake miss slips. End of the day we have a job to treat these people. I asked one of my friends who works in transport if I should report her. He used to be a phlebotomist. He said why don't I just trade her for another patient and I go stick him if I feel that strongly about it. I don't know. It feels like I should report her. But I also don't want to start drama.
