Thumb sucking

My toddlers dentist recommended mavala nail polish so we tried it for the first time last night it was disaster he couldn’t sleep being that he mostly sucks his thumb to self soothe & he would cry & gag everytime he put his thumb in his mouth I considered getting nail polish remover to just take it off but it’s not gonna fix the problem please tell me it gets better & he will just stop sucking his thumb miraculously one day 🥺 I feel so bad I know it’s hard & a big change for him & the taste is horrible & lingers in the mouth 😔
