Am I wrong for stealing my best friends baby name
My best friend wants more than anything to have a baby. Over a year ago she told me she had her son and daughter's baby name picked out. She had been trying IVF for 3 years. The name she had for a girl is Mackenzie which I said was my husband's sister's name.
I'm currently pregnant and she's still trying. We are having a boy. We made a deal that I pick the first baby's name and my husband would pick the second. This is our second and last baby. So my husband is picking the name. My husband's sister Mackenzie died last month. In a very brutal way. She was murdered and it destroyed my husband because she wasn't just a sister. She raised him from when he was little and saved him from his abusive mom. So my husband said he wants to name our son Mackenzie. Mackenzie is traditionally a boy's name. It means "Son of something" can't remember the son of what but the name is son. I said it was fine. Then I remembered about my best friend and told my husband.
But he's dead set on this name and made it clear this is the hill he's dying on. When me and my best friend talked I mentioned my husband wants to name our son after his sister. She said you said no right? I said it's a hill he's dying on. He wants to honor his sister. She said his dead sister wouldn't care. She's alive and she does care and it's her name. I said I was sorry. I promised my husband and it's the name he wants.
She told me they handed the paperwork to the mom and just wrote something else. I told her I'm not arguing with my husband over this and he really wants it. She got mad at me and blocked me. Now I feel really bad. She's my best friend but my husband is my husband and I've known him since prek so he's also my best friend
