1st ultrasound uk -when can we have it?

Hi all, im 5wks 1d and ive seen on other posts that they are getting ultrasounds this early and can confirm the pregnancy and health. Is this somethjng we can get on the nhs in the uk or would it have to be private?

Not on the NHS that early, and I can’t imagine you’d see much. I paid privately for a scan, I was roughly 8ish weeks at the time and you still couldn’t see much. A little blob and a flicker of a heartbeat. I paid for it as a reassurance scan as we were going away for 2 weeks, think it cost me around £70ish at Window to the Womb

I think those people are going private. Word of warning: there is very little to see at 5 weeks/dates could be wrong which can be upsetting/ cause more worry.
If you simply cannot wait til 12 weeks (I totally get it) you *could* ring emergency gynae at the hospital claiming to have cramping and spotting and they’ll bring you in. A bit cheeky but could be worth it for your sanity…

You can book them privately. It’s usually £50-75 or so. Most say after 6 weeks
