Did anyone else experience Zoloft side effects?

I started both Zoloft (for excessive stress and anxiety) and thyroid medicine 2 weeks ago. My dr told me the Zoloft can cause some digestive issues and nausea the first couple weeks, but I wasn’t too worried about. I’ve luckily never experience any side effects from any medicine ever. After the first few days on just the half dose, I had awful headaches and my stomach started to hurt but I wanted to power through it. After 7 days I went to the full dose. And that was so rough. My stomach would hurt so bad I could barely eat and what I did eat I was throwing up. But I still tried to make it the full 2 weeks. Yesterday I called my dr to let her know how much I was getting sick and the nurse told me the Zoloft shouldn’t do that? I told her it was a side effect warned to me by the dr. But if that’s normal I’ll try to keep taking it until my body can adjust. I did not take it yesterday morning bc I was throwing up so much and didn’t take it today either and I don’t feel sick and my stomach does not hurt. The nurse seemed annoyed, like they didn’t believe my problems and are now wanting me to try Prozac. Which is ok. I want to try something for a while to just reset and fix my brain and body. But I was wondering if anyone else had awful side effects like that too?
