Weird conversation with my MIL

Am I missing something? I’m due in 3 weeks with baby #2 and we have planned for my in laws to come to my house to babysit our 2.5 year old while I’m at the hospital. We have a guest room with its own bathroom, lots of space in the backyard and obviously all of my son’s stuff in his room and his snacks, etc. Everyone’s been on board with this plan for months.

My MIL is suddenly very worried that they won’t get here in time when we call them. My first labor was 50 hours so even if this is 1/4 what that was they’ll have time to get here. They live 1.5 hours away but in rush hour it’d be close to 3 hours. We have 2 neighbors who offered to come stay with our son until my in laws arrive, plus the hospital is super close to home in case we have to bring our son with us for some reason, my husband could literally walk him back home in 20 minutes.

My MIL suggested today that they take my son to their apartment a few days before my due date so they don’t have to worry about getting to our house on time. He’s never been there alone, it’s a small 1 bedroom apartment in a major city, very loud and different from our house that’s in the country suburbs. I think he’d be confused and scared because he’s never been there and his mom and dad are gone for days as well.

What if they took my son the week before my due date and then I didn’t have the baby until 41+ weeks? I’m a stay at home mom and I’m really cherishing the last few weeks I have with my little guy.

Idk if this is weird or if other stuff in the conversation bugged me. My sister is going in for a planned c section next week and she seems jealous that my sisters family can plan more. Also when she brought it up I said I might not have the baby until a week after my due date, and my husband said I hope not bc then the baby would get so big since they gain about 1/2 pound each week, and my MIL said well maybe I should just stop eating until then.
