I’ve been with my bf 3 years and we both love to go out to eat, sometimes I pay, sometimes he does, or I’ll pay for movies. Recently, hes been asking me or telling me he wants things “I need new hats” “I need new sweaters” “I need I need I need” last time I blurred out “damn what do I need” (I never ask him for anything besides flowers he stopped getting me “random “ flowers and that’s the only things I’ve asked.

In the beginning he would do this and I would actually go buy them for him he didn’t ask me but I think he caught on that I would eventually buy for him. After a year of doing this I stopped because it’s one way. His birthday just passed three weeks ago, I bought him $300 shoes, $300 watch & clothes also threw him a party, I didn’t know the watch has to be adjusted and today he told me “I wish I could wear it too big” and I said oh go get it adjusted he said “me?” I said yes I already paid 300 for it. I sent him a nice date night idea on TikTok and we’re sitting next to each other I told him “I’d love to go” he responded “you should take me” I looked at him in disbelief I’m starting to get the ick. I do not ask my bf for anything materialistic, he doesn’t it left and right and I’m starting to think he’s the female in this relationship.

Is this normal???
