41yrs, 1st baby no fertility treatment

Rikki

I’m Currently pregnant at 17 weeks I’ll be 42 when shes born.

So I spent years trying various fertility treatments, with 3 successful takes all ultimately ending one-two months later in miscarriages; the last loss being incredibly rough having to go though a D&C procedure, worst of all there was no medical explanation as to why this was happening. Then three more attempts with no success and again no medical reason as to why they weren’t taking. Finally my doctor being dumbfounded said “it seems your body just won’t allow you to be pregnant”

So two years ago I gave up, I quit. I got very depressed and let myself go a bit. So last April 2024 I got a prescription for zepbound it’s a weight loss drug.

I started taking it and 6 weeks later I missed my period I took a pregnancy test negative, but I had also lost 15 pounds so they thought it was just a symptom. 4 weeks later missed another period. (I had stopped the drug 2 weeks prior because it was out of stock) anyways took another pregnancy test and positive right away! Finally got a obgyn appointment a week later, ultrasound showed a healthy 9 week old baby! All tests including the NIPT have come back normal.

It’s warned not to use this drug to get pregnant, due to unknown side effect. It was a hell of a lot cheaper than the thousands I spent on fertility treatments. I’ve heard of a couple other stories similar to mine so hopefully there can be more research done for this drug and be used to help out more women like me and my situation.

Never give up!!
