How long from first appt to embryo transfer?

Hi there, I’m curious between your first appt with clinic then to frozen embryo transfer how many months typically? We have our first consult this Friday but I wouldn’t plan until maybe next spring? Is this realistic?

I always schedule stuff way ahead of time so I can get my body in shape and healthy. But it can actually got pretty quick (depending on your protocol). Spring would be plenty of time.

First appointment was in March 2018, failed iui in April 2018, ivf stims end of May-June 2018, first frozen transfer September 2018, live birth from that transfer May 2019.  Realistically, I probably could’ve skipped the iui since it had such a low likelihood of success for us (pcos and low sperm count).  I also had to have an mri to rule out uterine abnormalities, so that added time, and then I didn’t actually properly respond to a medicated FET protocol so we had to start over with a semi-natural one.  It really is just dependent on your clinic and your body.  I was also very lucky my first transfer stuck.  So for me it took several months to get the protocol right for the transfer but it was worth it because it worked.

Mine took forever… due to a lot of factors. Some in my control, some not. I think the journey is different for everyone.
