I just need to vent for a bit.

We found out we are having twins in October/November. Our first pregnancy we didn’t find out the gender of the baby (we wanted to be surprised!) so we have a good amount of neutral clothes, basics, etc. and specifically asked NOT to receive baby clothes unless they were hand me downs. We kept the genders of the twins a secret except for our parents and siblings (identical twins was a surprise enough!) Our moms gave us a beautiful shower this past weekend, but now we will have a bunch of stuff (mainly clothes and blankets!) to try to return now. A lot of gifts did not have receipts so I plan on taking some items to our local women’s and children’s shelter that they need.

They BOTH let it slip to everyone they invited that we are having boys. We only received a few things off the registry. I even kept it simple since this is my second pregnancy and we know what worked for us and our daughter. We have also been in the process of trying to downsize since we are moving closer to family a few months after the twins arrive. I don’t want to seem ungrateful. We are so grateful for all the love and support we’ve had from our family and friends. It’s just frustrating that we’ll spend this week and weekend trying to return gifts for items we actually want/need.
