Best friend just got covid right before my wedding day
As the title says, my best fried since childhood and her partner are super sick and just tested positive for covid, and my wedding is in 2 days. Obviously first I wish them a speedy and uncomplicated recovery. I'm absolutely gutted and don't know how to celebrate without her- she's a sister to me and the family photos will feel extremely empty without her.
What are some things I can do to make her still feel included in the festivities? I was thinking of inviting them on a couple's cabin trip or even just she and I to celebrate once she's fully recovered. I'm also preparing a get well soon basket to drop off at their home. Is there anything else I could do to make her feel better about this unfortunate situation? I love her so much and just don't want her to feel left out 🥺
UPDATE 💌 10/8
Thank you everyone for your sweet suggestions! I ended up dropping off a basket with snacks, homemade broth, some self-care goodies and medicine for her and her partner. On the day-of we facetimed before everyone showed up and I sent her photos and videos with a full breakdown of everything as soon as I got home. Later this month the two of us are going to rent a cabin and have a girls trip to celebrate not only my wedding but also our 20 year friend-iversary (besties since we were in 3rd grade 🥹)
