My 10 year old daughter wants an iPhone for Christmas I’m getting her one but I’m not the best with technology how do I block 🌽 and other explicit things on the phone please any help is appreciated I have no idea what I’m doing lol

I mean you can try but most kids will find a way if they truly want. I would do what you can but known it isn't a totally perfect or something that often other ways/tricks can be found around. Obviously just make sure you area monitoring it and have lots if conversations about safe internet usage.

Or just don't her her a iphone...she's 10. She doesnt need a $1500 phone at that age regardless. You basically are giving your kid a pocket computer and a shorter attention span. If she needs a phone for safety there are many that are not only less accessible in general to.the internet but don't cost as much as a mortgage payment.

I have kids in middle school and high school. Not to sound like a debbie downer there isn't a sure way to protect them. My kids when they finally got phones knew I could look at them if I wanted at anytime but more or less we just talked about safety and what can happen and what is inappropriate or not. Me and my kids have a very very open relationship and they tell me everything and I trust them. But that being said they tell me all the ways their friends get around phone apps and blocks and tracking and all that. And have told me so many times "it doesn't matter anyways because if you wanna see or find something just ask a kid whose parents don't do that." It's a different world and if they wanna get around stuff they will find a way. Be open and honest and make sure they know everything and are ready and that's the best you can do. My kids were older when they got their 1st phone as I had real hard lines about age/smart phones and definitely was not as nice as the one you are getting your daughter but they only got their 1st smart phone when they could show me they were mature enough to be safe on their own. Educate and pray...thats about all you can truly do.

I pay for the bark app for my kids on top of the normal phone controls. I see everything they do.

Go to Google and type in “set up kids iPhone” Apple has great parental control as well as controlling apps being downloaded. I used to work for Apple so just google that and it will come right up for you mama!
