Period changes
Currently 27y/o, got my first period at 11 and ever since I can remember I have had irregular periods (my period start day averaged 2 weeks later than the period start of the month before, if I was lucky), consistent and sometimes worrisome clotting, horrific cramps to the point of vomiting and can’t stand up, very very heavy bleeding (going through 4-5 super tampons A DAY and still bleeding through) and SUCH long cycles averaging 7-10 days.
I never really led a super healthy lifestyle (I played sports and was otherwise “active” however my diet was always lacking and I never took vitamins past childhood)
Fast forward to today, I’ve lost 30 lbs since January, my diet consists of way more whole foods and less processed, I stopped using tampons completely and only use a flex disk, I take vitamin b6/b12, folic acid, vitamin d3, and coq10 and I’ve noticed the most incredible changes to my cycle 🤩
- cramps are minimal, and only on the first day of period
- almost no clotting
- cycle lasts 4-5 days
- only 2 days of heavier flow in the beginning
- 28-31 day cycle (this was unheard of for me prior to about 5 months ago)
My initial goal was to better my health in order to conceive, and through the process of regulating my cycle, I feel so much more confident to begin actively TTC again in about 6 months.
When I first started TTC 4 years ago, it was so hard because of my poor health and poor menstrual health. Chemical pregnancies, abnormally long cycles giving me false hope, etc.
I’d love to hear stories of other women who regulated their cycles/hormones naturally with little to no medical intervention
