Has anyone had ingrown toenail removal?

I have a few questions..:
How bad does it hurt on a scale from 1-10 ?
How is the healing process? 
And lastly, Would I have to stay off my feet/ wear open toe shoes?

They numb your toe. Tiny little shot in the nerves of your toe. They cut it out, clean out the infection, pack it with gauze and some type of medicine so it doesn’t grow back. Then they wrap your toe up and send you out the door. Take a few Tylenol. It may throb a little but it’s not that bad. Honestly you feel so much better after having it removed whatever pain should be there don’t even hurt. Ik ingrown toenail pain. It hurts. I had MERSA in my ingrown toenail in middle school. Do the surgery. I was 12 when I had mine fixed and I’m almost 27 now and never had an issue.

I had mine a few years ago and when the procedure was being done it didn’t hurt but the recovery does hurt a tiny bit. I did have to wear open toe shoes for a few weeks until it was healed. It’s not as bad as it seems so don’t worry too much 🙂 good luck!
