Mucinex theory??

I’ve been hearing people say they’ve been getting prego from taking mucinex! Crazy right?! Can anyone else attest to this??? Give me all the deets

Answer

The theory is that using Mucinex (guaifenesin) can help thin cervical mucus, making it easier for sperm to get through your cervix and fertilize your egg.  There are no well designed scientific studies to support that, which does not mean it can’t be true, just that it has not been studied properly yet.
Usually healthy cervical mucus nourishes the sperm and allows them through. So it is likely that if it works as advertised, it will only increase your chances of pregnancy when your cervical mucus is hostile to his sperm.
