Do you think he would care?

I have a situationship. We were supposed to be just sex but I feel like it’s more because he calls it cheating if I flirt with or have sex with anyone else and if we stop talking he refers to it as “breaking up”/“leaving”. Anyways. I notice that lately if he gets upset or insecure about something, he asks questions and gets upset if I don’t tell him. But when it’s reversed and I question him about anything he says “we’re just fucking, it’s not that serious”. The other day we fought about something enough to where I told him I wanted space but then when I tried to take it he kept texting me. But then when we talked again and I told him I almost ended it, he said “well we just fuck, so it’s up to you”. I guess I’m just confused ? Do you think he would actually care if I “leave”? (He has a history of stalking and obsessing over women who dump him. But I feel like this is different since we aren’t labeled?) My mom said he’s just doing/saying all that because he knows he’s getting caught and is trying to brush it off when he does care.
