I found out that my long distance boyfriend of over 2 years has been lying about my existence the entire time we have been together.

I got some helpful responses but feel this community may have a little more insight because it’s Ldr specific. The post is on my profile if anyone is interested in reading the full background but it isn’t necessary, I’ll explain below.

He told someone that he wasn’t in a relationship and wasn’t interested in one because a few weeks ago a girl he was interested in didn’t return the same feelings, ghosted, and broke his heart. Whether this story is true or not, I don’t know, but either way he denies my existence.

Things have been so good..we’ve been talking about buying a house together and closing the distance. We even had conversations about wedding cake flavors. I bought him a ring, which he knows about. In an instant my entire future just fell apart.

He was texting me talking about all of these things while having a conversation with another person acting like our relationship never existed.

I’m confused and I’m heartbroken. What was the point of this..to lie to me, to take over 2 years of my life when the plans we were making were never genuine on his end? I was going to move states..move jobs..sell my house..

I haven’t come clean about knowing any of this yet. The comments I received on the other post were to send him screenshots, end the relationship and ghost.

Knowing none of this has been real is so hard. I haven’t fully come to terms with it and I don’t know how to. I feel so betrayed and lost.

Does anyone in the Ldr community have any words of wisdom?
