How often to give baby water?

After starting solids, how often do you offer water? I know breast milk/formula should be main source of nutrition/hydration, just wasn’t sure if I should be offering water throughout the day, or just while she has a meal (she is only eating 1 meal a day right now)

I did only with meals. It was more for cup train (open mouth and straw cups). Water is optional before 12m old. 
Too much water can be harmful. No more than 4oz between 6-9m and less than 8oz between 9-12m. And then babe needs between 8-32oz after 12m old.

What does his pediatrician recommend? After solids are introduced, a few sips of water here and there throughout the day and during meal time but breast milk/ formula should still be the main hydration. You should double deck with his pediatrician just in case though.

I gave my daughter 1 ounce of
Water from 1 month old and added an ounce for each month. And only once a day. And she was totally fine. I spoke to her paediatrician before starting and she said there was no harm. Started solids at 4 months. Now she’s an active thriving preschooler.
