Son's therapy team believes he has DID
My son is 17 now and has been in therapy for years. He's really my step son but I don't call him that and have legally adopted him. He and his sister was abused by my husband's ex-wife. They were human trafficked at a very younger age by their mother and his sister committed suicide when he was 7 and she was 12. We have kept him in therapy. His team has had to change a few times. His team consists of his therapist, psychologist, and casemanager. He's been with this team about 3 years. We have a meeting with all 3 of them and they all told me and my husband that they believe our son has DID. I don't see it and neither does my husband. I've seen people on it with tiktok and he doesn't do those things but his psychologist said 99.99999% of people on tiktok are faking it. He also said he's been a psychologist for 23 years and he's only had 1 genuine case of someone with DID. The rest were clearly faking it. He strongly believes my son has it. His therapist does to. It was a very emotional meeting. I mean he seems normal to me besides the trauma. But his therapist said that again, those videos on tiktok where people have those very obvious switches are most likely faking it. All I want is him to heal and have a normal life. We already knew he had CPTSD and some depression and anxiety. If he does have it there isn't a medication to make it better so is he just screwed?
