Difference btw giving birth at 39 vs 40?

Trying to decide when to start trying for our fourth. Is there a difference, in any way, at age 39 vs 40 when delivering? My dr said at 40 and older they induce you at 40 weeks. Wondering if anyone else has seen differences.

If you already have waited a safe interval since delivering your third, I would not wait longer personally. It becomes exponentially harder to conceive starting in your late 30s and going into your 40s (only 1 in 5 women at 40 are able to conceive spontaneously), so I would give yourself as much time as possible. 
Induction is commonly recommended at both 39 and 40 because the stillbirth risks with waiting are also much higher for women at those ages compared to in your 20s or early 30s. That’s not to say you can’t have a healthy pregnancy at these ages, you definitely can!! There are just additional things to consider, even for women who otherwise seem perfectly healthy.
