Interview thoughts
I had an interview today, I was super excited for but I think the interview didnt go well. Im a student applying for jobs hiring new grads. When I first applied I was called right away for an interview in 2 weeks, and my friend applied the same position. However, She wasnt called for another week only after her friend that works there, mentioned her to the supervisor.
Anyways, today I showed up for the interview and the supervisor seemed unprepared. She had my resume on her desk and asked kind of vague personality questions like “Describe yourself in 3 words” and only 2 questions that were maybe job related, what are my strengths and weaknesses. I gave thorough explained answers but was also to the point, I didnt want to ramble. But again many of the questions were short personality questions. The interviewer paid attention and seemed focused on me. She asked if I had questions and so I asked about her expectations for a new graduate and she went on to explain the orientation process and rotating days and nights during it. As she was talking her office phone kept ringing and then her cell phone. She asked maybe 8-10 questions total and you could see her making them up as she goes. Nothing was written either. She finished with explaining she has one position available and multiple other interviews this week before she will make a decision. If she decides to hire me she will call me later this week. The entire interview was over in about 8minutes!!! I couldnt believe how fast it went. I wanted the job so bad and now Im thinking my friend probably has it, her interview is in a couple days.
