Will Plan B work?

Question

my boyfriend and i had sex and the condom broke. I finished my period 4 days ago, and I am going to take a plan b right now about an hour after the condom broke. How effective would a plan b for me?

You are talking best case scenario so I will say that it’s going to be most effective for you. You have a 72hr window so the earliest you can take it the better. Don’t stress. Trust it will work because that’s exactly what it’s meant for. Also 4 days after your period means you most likely haven’t even ovulated so there’s no egg to fertilize and with plan b makes sure you won’t ovulate.

Plan B works pretty well in general. The only time it works less than optimum is if you take it within 24 hours of ovulation, or conception already took place by the time you take it. Typically 4 days after your period ends will be right at the start of your fertile week, so far enough away from ovulation for Plan B to work well. The only issue is  if you have a very short cycle.
