Positive Birth Story (being induced)
First and foremost, I would like to say thank you to all the other moms on this app who shared your stories & asked questions. My babygirl was due 10/25 but I’m the type of person that has always contributed to my household so not being able to work really got to me (I played college volleyball) as well as not being use to having my body stretch. I have always been tall and slim so having the extra 30 pounds was hard especially trying to workout so I just gave it up all together. (If your tired of being pregnant, SO WAS I SO YOU ARE NOT ALONE)
Fast forward to the beginning of October i was asked if i wanted to be induced & of course i said yes lol. Finally the 20th came, i ate before going in & when i did make it to the hospital they already had my room ready. Once we all got settled in, I signed paperwork around 8pm & was given a pill at 9pm to put in the side of my cheek to help me start dilating. I was given the second pill around 11pm to continue dilating then a pill was inserted near my cervix around 1am. 6am is when my dr came into the hospital to check on how I was doing and asked if I wanted my water broke, I said yes & before I knew it a HUGE gush came. I laughed because it felt like I had been holding my pee for about a day lol. The contractions came but weren’t unbearable, my nurse had been putting me in different positions to help & was helping me through the process by being positive. Around 3pm I was 8cm dilated & was tired/hungry, if I could change one thing it would be going to sleep the night before because I was soooo tired and hungry. I then asked for the epidural 😂 & my nurse tried to convince me for a good 10 minutes to not get it because I was so close… needless to say, I ignored her and got it anyway, took some time to kick in because I have scoliosis so it kicked in on some side of my body but not the other but soon after it did it was time to push & baby girl was here in 12 minutes.
