Living in the greater Toronto Area (GTA) and I just found out my daycare provider only uses Norwex to clean

My daughter is 19 months old and has been in home daycare for three months. In that time, she's had pink eye, several coughs, COVID, and this week she ended up with pinworms.

I know kids get sick in daycare but Christ... In 11 weeks she's had 6 different things go on and I've had to take 15 sick days! My daughter is sick far too often for a daycare with only three other children!

I spoke to the woman running the daycare because when my daughter started, she told me everything was disinfected as per provincial guidelines but this week I asked what she's using to clean.

I found out that she exclusively uses Norwex cloths to clean. She assured me that Norwex is a powerful disinfectant cloth with this technology that grabs germs and locks them away in the centre of the cloth meaning you can disinfect all surfaces with just water.

She says she cleans every toy and surface with this Norwex cloth and water. It's incredibly concerning that this same cloth is used to wipe surfaces in the bathroom and kitchen, but she says you can fold the cloth in half and in half again to get 8 different surfaces to wipe with and because of this locking away technology, germ transfer doesn't happen. I don't believe that for a second though. If she's using this to wipe everything, it is 100% how my daughter got pinworms! I should have asked her how she cleans things before we started daycare and I didn't, so it is on me too.

I honestly believe this woman is an angel on earth so bringing up concerns with her is really hard. My daughter loves her and loves going to daycare. I asked her if she'd consider using a different cleaner and disinfectant and she said no, and that Norwex is kid-safe and chemical free and they use it in hospitals. I don't know much about it but I can't imagine a hospital using Norwex instead of disinfectants!

Before I talk to her on Monday, is a child getting sick this often normal? My other friends have kids as well and they say this is above what's normal.
