When did you leave the house with your newborn?

My baby will by 1 month tomorrow and I haven’t gone anywhere besides the doctors. I really would love to go shop around or get out ( mostly for my mental health ) going outside isn’t really the best option as it’s really cold here right now. When did you take your newborn out? I don’t have a carrier car seat so I would either push him with the bassinet stroller attachment or baby wear him, not sure which is safest? Obviously I would try and avoid people , go out on a weekday morning and not let anyone near him. I would love to hear advice and what other moms did!

i always wait until after the baby receives their first set of vaccines, so 2+ months old before leaving the house or having visitors (besides doctors appointments)

Use the bassinet on the stroller, a winter sleeping bag, and dress baby for the winter. Go out and enjoy some fresh air and change of scenery.

Always the day after we were discharged. Lol never saw a need to wait. I have 2 fall babies & 2 summer babies.

For my first, about 2 months. She was born during the start of COVID lockdown. My 2nd we went out the day after coming home from the hospital. Just walked around target for my mental health.

The day we left the hospital I walked home (only live 6 min walk from hospital and don’t drive) the next day we had to do shopping as I stayed in hospital longer than we taught (had a c section and had a spinal leak and needed a blood patch). From then on we were out nearly everyday because I needed it for my mental health to get some air out of the house even if it was only for a small walk for 15 minutes.

I waited until my first Born was 2 months.my second and third baby was probably about a month old when I took them out. my first born was a fall baby that's why I waited longer and then my other two were spring babies. just make sure baby is properly dressed and shielded from any cold wind! or I would have someone come sit with my child while I got out for a few hours. you definitely need to get out!
