Big baby!

HisMommy

I had my 24 week appointment today and was told that my baby girl is measuring TWO WEEKS bigger than she should. Both of my boys were 7 lbs 7 oz at birth but I’m worried that this little girl is going to be HUGE and hard to push out. And no I did not get my due date wrong. I feel ovulation and know when I did the do during that time.

Are you talking ultrasound or the tape measure on the belly? Both can be wildly inaccurate. My baby’s generally get bigger each one; 5#11, 6#13, 7 even, 6#13, 7#3, 7#8, 7#11. I do worry what baby 8 will be at but this one we are both dealing with failure to thrive so not sure how much that is affecting us. I was measuring 1-2 weeks ahead currently with the tape measure, I’m just assuming because my body has been there done that a few times and I don’t have tummy muscles to hold anything anymore 🤷🏼‍♀️. If the doctor doesn’t seem overly concerned, maybe try to take the measurements with a grain of salt.

Just tape measure. I’m hoping she is just sitting high. Thank you for that!

Are they concerned with gestational diabetes or something? I know ultrasound isn’t 100% accurate and can be off by a week or two, I’ve absolutely heard stories of doctors predicting big babies and that not being the case, but are they going to send you for additional scans or anything?

I was checked early at 13 weeks for GD and was fine but I’ll do another in 2 weeks. They didn’t do a scan just the belly measurement.
