Green flag or red flag ?

I got on hinge a few days ago and I matched with someone I went to highschool with . We had a class together but we never really communicated. Anywho , when we matched he got straight to the point and asked when I was free because he wanted to take me out on a date. He also asked if we could call and talk or whatever . I guess I was just a little taken aback because whenever I have dated in the past, usually guys will text me for a little while and then asked me on a date after getting to know me, but he just kind of went straight for it lol without knowing me all that well . Would you guys consider this a red or green flag?

I wouldn’t consider this a red or green flag. I think it shows initiative but I can also see why people wait a bit before a first date. I think your situation is different though, because though you guys never really spoke in high school, he knows of you and probably knows people that could attest to your character being that y’all are former classmates. You’re not a complete stranger. I think when people want to wait a bit before dates they’re doing so to “vet” the other person and/or make sure they’re safe. I hope the date goes well, that would be a cool “how I met your mother” story! 😊

I did online dating and actually refused to do the talking stage for more than a week, two max. Maybe this ages me but I actually find it astounding that a man straight up asking a woman out on a real date would be a red flag or concern you. Thats how it should be, it shows hes serious.

You can talk to someone for weeks and just totally click, and then go on that first date and realize they're TERRIBLE. So I'd probably do the same.

It’s normal. People used to get to know each other in person before the internet took over. But also I am adamantly against any sort of dating app. Dating apps are weird and are typically for booty calls. And if a guy is on a dating site I’m going to assume he spends a lot of time on social media instead of being in the real world. I met my husband at work. He was the ride giver for my coworker who came in after my shift.
