Nebulizer on the floor

I took my 7 year old to get seen due to a nasty virus our household got. They did a breathing treatmenr and the nebulizer was on the floor. I.figured it goes there and my mind was overthinking. I thought of it again, cant it draw in germs, dust, and dirt thats on the disgusting floor where sick people come in at daily and step on? Is that normal or should it had been placed on a top surface? Im worried that nurse shouldn't of had the machine on the floor and that my child will be really sick or a lung infection from it.
