IUD infection?

Can iud insertion cause infection? Like wtf! I didn't even know that. I got my iud yesterday and I just found out it can cause an infection. That's insane. Now I'm worried I'll go septic or something, I don't even know what symptoms to watch for. I've had three IUDs this is my fourth and I've never had or heard of infections from it. I'm freakkking the hell out

If.youre not experiencing any symptoms you're fine. There's always risk of infection with any procedure. They should have cleaned the inside to keep it as sterile as possible and prevent infections. Normally when you get an IUD you sign consent forms that should give you information on what to watch out for what to expect whats normal what's not. You've had other IUDs you should already know all this information.
