Must-Have Baby Items for 0-3 months

Question

I’m a first time mom, and we have about 10/11 weeks left until our baby girl is here. I am feeling kind of underprepared/overwhelmed trying to figure out what we will actually need to start out comfortably. Does anyone have suggestions or a list of must-have small items? We have a lot of the big stuff, like a stroller, a car seat, a bassinet, a crib, etc. I just feel there is a lot I’m forgetting about and I’m unsure what we will actually need.

I’m having twins in 8 weeks. They’re my 3&4 kids. I have car seats, a lounger, a bouncer, a bassinet, a boppy to breastfeed, diapers/wipes/cream, about 10-15 outfits in newborn and 0-3, and some bottles for when I start pumping. FTMs go overboard with crap they don’t need. It’s a waste of money, and space. Babies don’t need as much as you think they will. And as they need it, you can pick it up. Thermometer, nail clippers, all that stuff will come up. This does remind me I need a bath seat, but you can get that stuff easily as you run into it.

You honestly don’t need tons of stuff. Depends on if your baby is picky on anything and that you won’t know until trial and error. I like having a swing or bouncer. You can get a 2 in one, some babies prefer one over the other. We get each baby an animal pacifier, some have a longer nipple, those suck with little mouths. We liked a portable song/noise machine that clipped to the car seat. Was always with if needed out or at home. Basics, a few sets of clothes or sleepers, 1-2 swaddles or swaddle blankets big enough (one for use, one as spare if first gets peed/puked on, then rotate). Burp clothes, whatever you prefer but I liked something that was generally labeled for cloth diaper use, they were thin and foldable, held spit up well, white so you could bleach or toss away as they were pretty cheap. Some kind of bottle to try, a breast pump if you want to do that but a can of formula (even like a trial size) for a just in case need, like a middle of night issue. Breastfeeding cover. And I loved my baby carrier. I preferred  light weight fabric one like a ktan or something similar. Baby wipes and soap, gripe water for upset tummy’s (always happens in the middle of the night when you can’t get to a store). Baby’s grow so fast so lots of clothes is unnecessary and many other baby products you will probably get and might not use much or at all. You kinda figure that out as you go. Baby #8 doesn’t even have a bed yet 🤷🏼‍♀️ his little sister is still in it 😆. Hopefully I have a few weeks yet to figure it out.

Tonnes of short sleeve vests (first size/0-3)
Tonnes of pyjamas (get zips not poppers)
Tonnes of bibs
A few very, very dim night lights 
Infacol
Sunshade for car
Weighted wipe dispenser box
Separate bucket for dirty baby bottles/dummies/pump parts, bottle cleanser, and brush
Bath thermometer
Feeding cushion - arms/back absolutely knack after a while
Sleep sacks, 2.5 tog - no arms
Little buzzing chair to chuck him in while getting organised
High contrast books

Congrats! These are things that really helped us!
• Sleep Sacks! (ones that have the arms up/transitionals as my son’s startle reflex would wake him up and whatnot) I’ll post a picture. The ones we got on Amazon were like $20. Definitely worth it. 
• Swaddles that have Velcro 
• Different types of pacifiers (we loved the flat looking Nuks but also had traditional ones) along with paci clips. 
• Gas drops, gripe water
• Fingernail clippers/hygiene kit, shampoo, diaper rash creams, lotion, baby washcloths 
• Extra crib sheets
• Thermometer (digital) 
• Bottle Brushes 
• Zip up sleepers (these are great for easier diaper changes especially during newborn stage) 
• Socks
• Formula travel dispenser (if using formula)
• Nose Bulb
