Women’s wellness center business Idea
posting anon since I have family and friends on here.
my husband and I have been wanting to start a business for a few years and have finally decided on one that we think would be highly beneficial in our area.
We’re wanting to open a women’s wellness center! It would be mainly focused on pregnant women, new moms and women in general. we will offer classes than include breastfeeding, labor preparation (basic labor skills, pain management, emergency C sections, repeat C sections, inductions etc), parenting classes to help with basic infant care all the way up through teens (these classes would be separated by various age groups so a class for newborns/infants, young children, pre teens, teens, and even a class for parents of children with challenges of autism, down syndrome, etc) we will also have yoga and pilates on a regular basis as well as “moms night” which would be a night to come in and hang out and meet local moms (this would be free). We will have child care for the classes and fitness classes too.
Since most women would typically only take on course of each class, to keep them coming back we would offer various types of “pop-up” classes which would include things like financial support, meal prepping, first aid and CPR, etc. These wouldn’t be on a regular basis, maybe once a month or so.
we plan on hiring professionals in each subject to teach a class and pay them either a percentage of each member or a set rate.
I’m really set on this business but would love some feedback from people! We have two large towns and tons of smaller towns around us and 3 pretty big hospitals around us, and none of them teach classes like this anymore. I have talked with a few nurses that i’m friends with (most are L& D nurses) and they all think it’s a great idea and they have multiple patients that ask about classes like these.
sorry this was long, i’m hoping I gave a good enough explanation of the business idea and would love to see what you think?
ETA- we do have a lawyer in mind that we’ve done some business with before:) Insurance will likely be high unfortunately! and yes, I am in the states so a lot of this education isn’t really taught for parents nor do we have many places to go for advice unless you’re looking to spend $30-80 AN HOUR just for a lactation consultant, I needed some advice so bad when I had my first baby and I was stuck paying an outrageous amount that I couldn’t afford☹️
