Bf being sus or im overreacting?

Soo I haven’t seen my bf in 2 weeks. First week he stopped replying from Friday to Tuesday. Then reached out saying he was going thru a lot and depressed because his friend was in an accident and was in a coma.. I said okay and tried to be understanding. We texted for 3days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) Friday he barely texted back and then just stopped replying.. he didn’t text me all weekend until today Monday night (10p) and with no explanation just a random picture of his cat..

Am I overreacting that I want to tell him off??? Like I want to be understanding if he’s upset about his friend but for him to just go MIA on me?? And then not have an explanation just a random picture of his cat?.. also why is that it’s just weekends that he’s going MIA.. idk what to think 🙃
