Bleeding despite increasing HCG on blood test? Can anyone help?

Waiting for my doctor to call,  but I have had strong positive urine tests and now two positive blood tests. Two days ago at 12 dpo my HCG was 72, and today it is 233,  but I woke up bleeding with brownish reddish blood, not a full sized pad worth but spotting and light. My doctor said it could just be bleeding as long as my numbers doubled today (and they ended up tripling), but does anyone else have experience and your baby was okay? I also just started taking a  progesterone pill vaginally two days ago each night.. could it be irritating my cervix causing the bleeding? 
Or what do you think could be going on?

Yes, it can irritate the cervix. Spotting is common in early pregnancy. Brown blood is usually old blood. You just want to make sure it doesn’t resemble coffee grounds color wise that can be troublesome according to what I looked up when I was spotting at 6 and 9 weeks.

When I was 6 weeks, I had a bleed - with clots. Thought I had lost the baby, went to the OB and ultrasound showed that I had an SCH and something that looked like a developing embryo. The bleeding only lasted one day. A week later, saw the baby’s heartbeat and it measured at 127. I’m 13w1d now and baby is doing well. And I haven’t had any more bleeding. And yes, progesterone suppositories can irritate the cervix.

Does ur doctor know your taking the progesterone pill vaginally?

It could be implantation bleeding. My story this pregnancy sounds very similar to yours and I think that’s what we’re chocking my spotting up to. Positive tests starting at 8DPO, but then had light brown/pink spotting for about 3 days starting at around 11-12DPO. HCG 174 at 3 weeks 5 days (would have been 12DPO), 435 at 4 weeks, and 887 at 4 weeks 2 days. It stopped and hasn’t reoccurred and I’m now 7 weeks. Won’t have my US for another week, but everything seems normal (including worsening symptoms) and my OB isn’t worried. 🤷🏻‍♀️
