Is this shallow?

I just met a man a few months ago that ive been dating. He treats me so well and makes me happy and all. Background info on me im a single mother of 2 and have worked in banking for years and consistently worked hard for my career and my lifestyle. This man works at giant eagle as a meat cutter which initially didnt bother me because its a job and steady and pays his bills. But as we continue to date he is starting to talk more and more about how broke he is. Which is okay im not after money but im not looking to support someone. He just told me today he thinks he is getting fired for being late too many times....... i am contemplating if i want to continue dating... he held this job for about 8 months and is already being fired... i dont know if i can handle having an unstable partner who cant keep a job. What would you do in this situation? We are older so itd be different if we were in our early twenties and just figuring things out but at our age (mid 30s) i feel like we should have a stable career established. Would this bother you?
