if a guy didnt respond to you for days because he was sick, would you text him back?

I texted him "i hope you are feeling okay! how are you?" he didnt respond for 3 days. he responded saying "i missed your text, I am barely functioning." its just strange because even when i am really sick (I literally had a colon infection, was nauseous snd all -- I would text back). I just feel unimportant in his life to even respond back to a simple, 'how are you doing?'
