Am I being selfish??

Yesterday was my boyfriend’s birthday. He had plans to celebrate with his family but he got into it with his mother and decided to get a hotel room for the night. Initially, he was gonna check out early and go back home but he decided to invite me over. After we check out, he asks me to send him a portion of the money he spent for the room which I said no to. I felt that if I was invited I shouldn’t have to pitch in unless we came to a mutual decision to get a room together beforehand then I could’ve put it in my budget. My birthday is 3 days after his so the money I have is for my birthday plans and to last the rest of the 2 weeks before my next payday. I’d been asking him to make a wishlist months in advance since I know our days are so close to each other and I wanted to be financially prepared. He decides on 2 things that cost $400 A WEEK before so I already threw my budget off. My final reason is because I feel that since he’s lost his job, he’s depending on me which of course I have no problem doing, but I have my own responsibilities to take care of. If he’s hungry, I’ll buy him food or send him money all the time. Same for other things he needs, I’ll help out. I ended up giving him gas money since he did drive 35 mins there and back and there again to pick me up. I explained all this to him and still he think im selfish because I don’t want to help with the room that he got for himself and later invited me, and regardless if I was there or not, he would’ve paid the same price. Do you think I’m selfish??
