DPO & HCG testing?

I’m a bit new to pregnancy lingo and things I should be doing. I’m 5 weeks 4 days with my 1st rainbow baby! (Had a miscarriage this January) so I was wondering how are some of you able to test DPO and HCG numbers before the prenatal apt!? Any tips is appreciated, thanks!

I order blood work through my general practitioner as soon as I have a faint positive. I also order my dating scan around this time. I have a history of miscarriage (all types) so this is done long before I register the pregnancy with my local hospital and begin antenatal visits with my midwife.

I think a lot of people that track their cycles and have regular (ish) cycles can definitely tell how many DPO they are! Usually using ovulation tests to pinpoint day of ovulation. Myself, I cannot haha. I have very irregular cycles.. but as for HCG, for 2 out of my 3 pregnancies I had bloodwork ordered by my provider before my appointments for insurance reasons, and some doctors offices require an HCG blood panel! With my current pregnancy I had 3 separate blood draws before even being seen by my midwife, but with my rainbow baby I had none done before my first appointment!
