Curly Hair + Boho Braids?! 🤭 Looking for Tips, Advice, & Recs!
Hey there! I’m a 32-year-old Hispanic woman with curly hair (mostly 3b, but it’s a mix of 3a-3c). My hair length is about 5-6 inches below my shoulders, and I have a "wolf cut" with some curtain bangs. Lately, I’ve been really into the Boho Braids and am leaning on just doing it!!! But…..
I’m especially interested in hearing from other Hispanic, Latina/o, Mexican, or anyone with a similar hair type who has gotten this style done. (Want to just do my natural hair, preferably)
I have a few questions (I know, it’s a bit of a deep dive!):
How did you educate yourself about the style?
Any specific Reddit threads, Facebook groups, or blogs you found helpful?
When you were ready to go for it, how did you find a good braider or professional? I’ve had two friends suggest IG as a great place to find local braiders by checking out their work. If I go that route, what other things should I look for in a braider besides just their aesthetic?
What are the pros and cons of Boho Braids?
Is my hair really going to fall out in bunches (more than the avg strands a day kinda thing)
Once your braids were done, how long did they last? And what are the best oils or products (like Vitamin E or tea tree oil) to keep your scalp and hair healthy while wearing this style?
Thank you in advance for your help and time with all this. Xoxox
