New mom help!

Kayla

Hi!

I want to share my situation in hopes that other moms have been through similar experiences that they can share. This is my first time being pregnant and I have no idea what to think. I’m sorry for the long story!

To start, I have very irregular periods.

On March 18th, I got what I thought was a period. But it was very light and I didn’t have any cramps. Then about 2 weeks later on March 29th, I started spotting. I took a test (& 3 more bcs I couldn’t believe my eyes lol) & it was positive!

I called the doctor on March 31st, they had me go in to test my HCG levels bcs I told them I was spotting.

They had me test on March 31st & again on April 2nd. My levels did not double like I read they should have. I want to say it was 237 and then 350. I had done a lot of reading & was seeing so many scary things about it. I went back the next week and tested again. They again, did not double. But the doctor/nurse didn’t seem to be concerned about it. They said “your levels are rising so it’s a viable pregnancy.”

Because of that “period” on March 18th, they think I’m only 6w3d pregnant right now. But I’m thinking I might be further than that because when they thought I was around 3 weeks pregnant, the nurse said that my HCG levels were showing more like 4-5 weeks. So I’m probably more like 7-8 weeks along now.

Anyway, I’ve been spotting/bleeding since I found out on March 31st and the nurse has told me several times that it’s normal & I should go to the ER if I’m filling a pad in an hour or if I have very severe cramps or cramping on one side.

Over the last 2 weeks, the spotting/bleeding has lessened quite a bit and was brown. Well 2 days ago, I started bleeding bright red again and it’s quite a bit of blood. Now I’m cramping as well. But it comes and goes… I noticed that I bleed more when the cramps are worse.

I also noticed that I have more cramping in the late morning/early afternoon but it’s usually gone by night time.

I have my first ultrasound tomorrow & I’m so scared. Has anyone experienced anything like this and had a positive outcome?

Thank you for taking the time to read my novel. Lol
