How Accurate are NIPT Genetic Tests??

My husband has the results and knows the gender. He will be surprising me with it soon. I’m internally freaking out wanting to know!! Our OB uses the company Myriad. Has anyone ever had the results turn out to be incorrect? How common is it for them to be correct/incorrect? I’m so excited and want to start buying stuff right away once I know. I would be absolutely in shambles if I got my heart & mind prepared for one and then found out later it’s the other lol I’m currently 11w4d and will be getting my 12 week scan next Thursday!

They said the blood tests are more accurate than even ultrasounds! It goes by whether Y chromosome is detected or not. As it’s already been said, as long as you were over 9 weeks you’re good!

the only tests that are usually wrong are the sneakpeak tests…

as long as you were at least 9 weeks 
it’s basically 100% accurate. after 9 weeks that’s when there is enough of the fetal DNA in your blood. 
my first NIPT test was done at 9 weeks 6 days, got BOY results and they were accurate. this time around, i got the nipt testing done at 11 weeks, and it came back girl. so yes as long as you are 9 weeks, it’s 99.9999% correct!
