How late is considered late for the pill?

for reference, i take the combined pill. i'm just wondering if it's considered late if it's not taken within the hour. i just want to be sure. do you take it at the exact same minute of the day, or just within the hour? or three hours? 
sorry if this is a stupid question i'm just confused 😭
