Gift giving? Platonic vs romantic
I have had a friend for 7 years. The last year or so, I feel our connection has slowly gotten stronger and he has given me several meaningful gifts. He noticed I didn’t have a record player (we are both music lovers) and several months later he showed up with a “surprise” for me… he walked me to his car, opened up his trunk and gifted me his mom’s old record player. Then in a recent move, he gave me an old framed felted picture that he said was from his childhood. And he also insisted on giving me a mattress he didn’t need anymore. He also made a vague passing comment when referring to our connection about how it “couldn’t get better than this” and referenced our connect again saying, “our friendship… or whatever this is”… but then he didn’t really concretely follow up in those moments and I was so taken off guard, I didn’t say anything back. Friend vibes or more? Thoughts?
