I got my tubes tied but now I want it reversed. Why don't people make things clear that you can only get it reversed with certain types?!?!

I wanted my tubes reversed because I had them tied after my third child with my now ex- husband. At that time I didn't want any other kids.
Well five years later and a divorce, I want another baby and I found out my doctor removed my tubes. This was not explained to me at the time it was done. I remember saying "I don't care what you do. Just make it permanent". I never said make it irreversible.
I signed papers which I've since seen but ... Is that really binding when I don't remember my surgeon explaining that my tubes would be removed and it couldn't be real versed? I kept saying I wanted a tube tie. I figured that meant that they would tie my tubes. They went over options and I picked the most effective permanent one but they didn't explain that I couldn't reverse it. It was in the information package but I don't recall them making that really abundantly clear.
I signed off saying I knew it was permanent but it says in another area that it would not be reversible which I think, those are two different things. Like I had a breast augmentation and tummy tuck and it's permanent but boobs can be reversible.
My one friend says I should sue but my other friend says that if I signed off on paper, that's more binding than my word. She said it's my responsibility to read what I'm signing. 
Is there anything I can do?

So let me get this straight.... You literally told the doctor "I dont care what you do but make it permanent", went over and CHOSE the most permanent option, as well as signed papers that very clearly stated that the procedure would be PERMANENT, and are now considering sueing for....what exactly? Doing exactly what you said and signed off on? Do you not know what the word PERMANENT means? In what universe does permanent=reversable? Maybe in the future you should actually read what you are signing before signing it.

It sounds like you made the assumption that you were getting a tubal ligation and that permanent meant it was reversible. Everything would have been explained to you in your pre-surgical preparation package and consultation. This is not on the doctor at all.
This is why you have a consult, get material to read in your pre-surgical package, and sign consent forms. It is on you to read and understand the material given to you. You would have signed off on something to that effect. This is why doctors have everything in writing. It's very hard to dispute that in court.  
It sounds like you got a salpingectomy instead of a tubal ligation. The difference would have been explained to you and you would have signed off on the salpingectomy. They are both permanent types of birth control. Permanent typically means irreversible. 
TLDR: you do not have any grounds to sue. You regret your decision. That sucks. If you still have your ovaries, you can try IVF or a surrogate.

You can’t sue for this unless you can prove you were incapacitated when you signed the consent. And even if they did tie your tubes, it’s still not a guarantee you could reverse it and conceive naturally. Also permanent and irreversible mean the same thing. You can still pursue other options to expand your family. Yes, the options are expensive but so is a tubal reversible so either way you’re looking at spending thousands of dollars.

You can’t sue them, you signed papers and you even confess to saying you told them to “make it permanent” well, that’s exactly what they did.

The only way you could sue is if the papers you signed say it's for a tubal ligation (specifying your tubes would remain) and then did the wrong procedure and removed your tubes. That doesnt sound like the case though. With a tubal ligation, you have a higher likelihood of having an ectopic pregnancy. If you said you wanted it permanent, then it makes sense that they recommended removal. If you signed on that,that was your choice. It really sucks you regret it but you have no legal case. You may be able to conceive again via IVF though.
