I am 36 years old. Is it too late to conceive?

Hi everyone. I am 36 going on 37. I have honestly not made a conscious effort to conceive up until now due to various reasons- multiple career start-overs, economy, multiple significant moves across the globe, etc., etc. However, I have always wanted to be a mother, same with my husband but we had to be pragmatic as well. I am at a point now, where I am not keeping any expectations and trying to be okay with the fact that it may be too late and I may not be able to conceive anymore. My husband also is worried that he may lose me since he has read that the risk of complications increases at this age, so he has already come to terms with us possibly not having a child. I also do not want to go down the route of IVF etc as of now. I am curious to know what your thoughts are or share your experiences on having your first child at this age naturally. I also have PCOS and I am working on bringing that under control. Any words of encouragement ( or discouragement) are welcome 🤗

For me it was a struggle to conceive with pcos. With treatment I had my twins at 32 years and now by surprise I had my third baby naturally at 40 yrs. So it’s not too late if you want to be a mom.

I had my daughter at 36. It is higher risk, but it's not too late. I had no problems with infertility. My daughter and I both I had some complications but it all turned out fine.

There’s only one way to find out if it’s too late or not! If you’re not perimenopausal yet then it’s entirely possible. Women are having children older nowadays and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, give it a shot!

It’s not too late. You just have to try. 
There’s never a “right” time for a baby. You make it work. 
My SIL just had her second baby at 35. Her friend is 35/36 and is 20 weeks with her first. 
A miscarriage might happen. Don’t let that discourage you. They are more common than people realize. I miscarried my first pregnancy and had 2 babies after. My SIL miscarried one between her two full term pregnancies. Her friend miscarried the baby before this current pregnancy. 
I recommend getting on a prenatal now. It’s best to have prenatals in your system for 3 months before conceiving. 
See your obgyn to discuss a game plan. Discuss pros and cons. Discuss when to see a specialist (they will likely want to try clomid first). 
Me, personally, if I were in your situation, I wouldn’t settle with having no children without trying. I would always regret it. I’d look back at 50 and think “wow, I could have a teenager now…that really wouldn’t be so bad”. If I tried and it didn’t happen, I’d be able to accept that I at least tried. But that’s just ME and how my brain would work!

No, I just got pregnant and will be 35 for the birth. However, my cycles are very regular - for example, I felt ovulation (one sided cramping) pain right on the day Glow calculated it would be ovulation.
If you don’t have regular cycles like that, you should probably seek professional guidance.
